Thanks again to the amazing Janina Franck and Snowy Wings Publishing for putting together yet another stunning cover for the fourth Tale of the Zodiac Cusp Kids, Something Found!
Just over a week has passed since Angie, David and Jenny said goodbye to Barb and Alesta, the German Shepherd pup.
David and Jenny convince Jon and Angie to come to a dance at the neighborhood Rec Center and mysterious things begin to appear. Jenny’s prophecies guide them to a magical artifact that transports the Zodiac Cusp Kids away from the dance on a world-hopping rescue that opens their eyes to a terrifying new enemy, and to some powerful magical allies closer to home than they’d dreamed.
Something Found is the fourth of seven stories drawn from Angie’s diaries. Kept safely hidden for decades, they tell how the kids spent their teenage years – working with their mentor, Mr. Rakow, and Jenny’s mom, Lorraine, who dabbles in witchcraft, to realize their power and battle the forces of darkness that menace their hometown.
Something Found will be available on Amazon and Barnes and Noble online on September 1st. If you're new to this the Tales of the Zodiac Cusp Kids, have a look at the first three novellas. I know there are readers out there who shy away from series, they're just too much of a commitment. These stories are different.
I wanted to give you stories that are little bites. Stories that aren't overwhelmingly long for reluctant or busy readers, and stories that parents and kids might even see fit to read together. There's a little history, a little magic, a little nostalgia and a lot of adventure and friendship.
Their adventures begin in 1983. In Something Wicked, Angie, Jenny and David are riding bikes, watching MTV and looking forward to summer vacation before junior high. Lincoln, Nebraska is a pretty quiet place to grow up, and when the kids take off at 5:00 am to deliver the newspapers on Jenny’s route, they aren’t expecting trouble. So, when a creature straight out of a horror movie appears, the kids are forced to draw on their wits, their strength, and most of all their friendship to survive.
Something Haunted, the second Tale of the Zodiac Cusp Kids occurs in the fall of 1983. After weeks of healing from their first adventure and some specialized basic training with Mr. Rakow, Angie, Jenny and David are feeling prepared for the horrors junior high will surely bring. The final weekend of vacation, a bizarre tornado tears through Lincoln, upending gravestones and depositing supernatural debris on the school grounds.
The gang has their hands full with the demands of starting junior high on top of trying to figure out an otherworldly mystery, and their friendship begins to feel the strain. But the malevolent ghost haunting the school is ramping up its attacks on students, and the kids are going to have to get it together in time to save the school.
The third Tale of the Zodiac Cusp Kids, Something Lost, begins on a Friday afternoon in the spring of 1985, when Crystal and Barb, two girls from Whitehall, the neighborhood group home for troubled kids, approach Angie at school.
Crystal’s little sister has disappeared, and her foster parents and the police think she’s just another runaway. Crystal doesn’t believe it, and when she and Barb learn there’s a ghost involved, they know they’re going to need the kind of help Angie, David and Jenny have developed a reputation for.The Zodiac Cusp Kids enlist some extra help from Jen’s twin Jon and a couple very special German Shepherd pups to uncover what has really happened to Crystal’s sister, and what they find is darker and more complex than anyone imagined.
